We very proudly say that we are an “old school” coffee company.
By this we mean to state the commitment we initiate to protect the small scale farmers and the traditional approach we have towards cultivating coffee. Usage of pesticides and artificial fertilizers in coffee plantations throughout have caused more harm to soil. The pressure for increasing the yield in order to meet the demands of the market have put coffee cultivators adapt to technologies that exploit the plant to its maximum.
Increasing demand for coffee and rise in coffee brands have created an atmosphere of unpleasant competition in the market where small scale farmers are always at the mercy of macro factors for their livelihood.
At Old Babbler our guiding philosophy believes in creating a practise that connects small scale coffee farmers and consumers with good quality products. Our commitment to the soil has guided us in resorting to traditional methods of nurturing coffee where the soil, plant and the community is not exploited, creating a victory for all.
The impact we create can be briefly described by our ‘BEAN’ motive which is the heart of all practices we initiate
